Sensitivity Analysis

The Levelised Cost of Energy (LCOE) is a convenient summary measure of the overall competitiveness of the generating technologies. It allows a comparison between the costs of different technologies and provides us with an idea of its possible profitability. In this section, the LCOE of two different wave energy converters is calculated for the selected sites, and a sensitivity analysis of it is carried out in order to evaluate how different variables such as the technical performance of the devices or the wave resource available interact and influence a wave energy project.
