This project aims to promote a better understanding of how implementing energy storage can help industrial plants improve their autonomy.
The focus is entirely on the electrical side of energy supply and demand. An excel file was developed to look at the potential benefits of including energy storage for an industrial site which has local generation.
The first focus was on the electrical supply and demand matching to observe how the autonomy could be improved. This allowed analysis of some economical and environmental impacts.
The primary objectives are summarised below:
- To develop a model to investigate the effects of implementing different storage technologies.
- Use the model to improve the understanding of implementing storage within supply/demand matching of industrial sites.
- Investigate the economic feasibility and environmental impacts of different storage technologies.
