Present Scenario

The generation of the demand profiles for the present scenario were based on high resolution data from real buildings, collected by the Building Research Establishment (BRE) between 1988-1991 at the Milton Keynes Energy Park [1].

Demand profiles were generated for a typical winter and summer day, by averaging the data over a month in winter and in summer (December and June). Profiles were averaged over five different homes to give an average profile shape representative of a small community and scaled to match the average yearly consumption per household in Scotland of 21MWh [2,3]. Finally, the profiles were scaled to a community of 30 houses.
