ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT:

It is concluded that this project will have a positive overall environmental impact, since wind energy, which is emission free, will be utilized for heating instead of oil. A rough estimation of the CO2 savings after the implementation of this scheme is presented in table 1. Although the carbon rating of such complex buildings would be hard to assess analytically it is estimated that it will be improved after the installation of the district heating system by approximately one rank.

RISK ASSESSMENT: Since the construction of a district heating system is a major project that will require significant manpower and amount of time, risks related to the activities during construction should be considered. Some risks that have been predicted along with mitigation suggestions are available in the table below:
