GHA owns around 60,000 homes in Glasgow City Council. 65% of GHA stock is tenement buildings – where the households are grouped together in factors of 8 per staircase. After tenement blocks, the second most numerous household are the “high-rise” buildings representing around 20% of total stock.

Fundamental to our analysis is modelling the number of people per household. The pie-chart shows spread of number of people per household in all of GHA dwellings. The average number per household is 1.5, and we assumed on average a small size of flat of 65m2. REF: Glasgow Housing Association www.gha.org.uk
