Further Considerations

For this project we have looked at a snapshot of the University of Strathclyde as it is today. However, campuses are constantly changing due to a variety of factors such as increasing student and staff populations, space management changes and increased plug loads as more appliances are brought to campus (laptops, mobile phone chargers etc.). Buildings can be vacated or replaced. This is investigated further here.

In addition, possibly the biggest factor affecting carbon emissions on campus is the carbon intensity of the electricity grid. It is projected to decrease dramatically over the next 15 years. The effects of this on baseline carbon emissions and meeting carbon reduction targets is explored here.
