Diana Elliott

BArch, Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design Accredited Professional

Diana attended Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island, USA. While there, she was inducted into Tau Sigma Delta, an honour society for architecture and allied arts. She gained valuable experience in Wyoming, working most recently for Carney Logan Burke Architects (formerly Carney Architects) and obtained the Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP) credential. She has volunteered in several capacities, including Habitat for Humanity. During a year-long stay in New Zealand, Diana also had the opportunity to volunteer assisting construction of a passive strawbale house. Her background in architecture and particular interest in sustainability, led to her pursuit of an MSc in Renewable Energy Systems and the Environment.

Stuart Gibson

Stuart Gibson

BEng (Hons) Architectural Engineering

Stuart graduated in 2010 with a 2:1 BEng in Architectural Engineering, a multi-disciplinary course that combines structural engineering, architectural studies and low energy building design. He was originally on the MEng of Architectural Engineering, however decided to change to his current MSc of Renewable Energy Systems and the Environment due to his interest and passion for renewable energy generation, sustainable building design and sustainable living through engineering. Stuart enjoys participating in many extra-curricular activities, some of which include learning Mandarin Chinese at night classes, being a team captain for the University of Strathclyde Muay Thai Club and being a class representative. He hopes that his knowledge gained throughout his academic, work and social experiences will provide him with lifelong career in sustainability and engineering. Contact: Stue3103@googlemail.com

David McCracken

David McCracken

BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering

David graduated from the University of West of Scotland in 2009 with a 1st Class BEng Honours Degree in Civil Engineering. For his final year honours project he undertook an investigation into the design of a new type of overtopping wave energy device. This is what initially sparked his interest in the field of renewable energy. During his 4 years of study, he also achieved a total of 12 months valuable industry experience with both Amec and Renfrewshire Council, further expanding his team working abilities. David is able to undertake his MSc in Renewable Energy Systems and the Environment after he was awarded the prestigious “Sir Angus Paton Bursary Award ” from the Royal Academy of Engineering .

Luke Tait

Luke Tait

BEng (Hons) Electrical & Electronic Engineering

Luke graduated with a 2:1 BEng (Hons) Electrical & Electronic Engineering at Edinburgh Napier University in 2010. Applied to this course due to his passion and desire to work in the renewable energy industry. He enjoyed the multidisciplinary nature of the course and opportunity to work in groups with people from different engineering backgrounds. Luke's previous experience includes industrial placement with MacTaggart Scott working on various maritime engineering projects for navies around the world.

Bryan Wyse

Bryan Wyse

BEng (Hons) Chemical Engineering

Bryan graduated from the University of Strathclyde in 2009 with a BEng (Hons) in Chemical Engineering. After graduating he spent time working within the pharmaceutical industry and nearly took a chemistry direction with his career. However, his ambition was to gain employment within the energy sector. One of his biggest regrets was not staying on for his MEng, so Bryan made the decision to return to the University of Strathclyde and study toward his MSc. Having a genuine passion for the nuclear and renewable industries, Bryan chose the Renewable Energy Systems and the Environment as his Masters course. Bryan hopes that the skills he has gained from this multidiscipline course, along with his Chemical Engineering roots will enable him to gain employment within the power generation sector.
