Aim & Objectives

The aim of the project was to analyse the impact of retrofitting the entire Scottish residential building stock in terms of cost, energy demand, and CO2 reduction.

Our project intended to build on previous work done, and there were three key objectives set for achieving this:
  1. Generating a residential housing stock model with a significantly enhanced resolution compared to what has been previously seen.
  2. Defining and applying a large number of retrofit variations to the model.
  3. Identifying practicalities considering large-scale retrofit, and ways of making it feasible.
