our methodology

Picture

The simple methodology applied in this project was to develop a general case model for the optimal sizing and control of integrated biomass - solar thermal district heating schemes, and apply this within a specific case study to output meaningful quantitative results as far as possible, or accurately calibrated qualitative ones where not possible. This methodology is presented graphically alongside.

Each step of the general case outlined alongside is investigated in further detail within respective sections of The Project navigation panel located at the top of the screen. This required both a detailed understanding of system operations synthesised for presentation within this website, and independently developed tools to develop a robust methodology for application in a case study, the results of which will form the primary basis of general conclusions drawn from this project.
