case study: feasibility study

The feasibility study performed for the purpose of this project is a retrospective analysis of the integrated biomass - solar thermal district heating scheme serving six houses within the Soillse housing district of FIndhorn Ecovillage. Although there are a whole multitude of intricate factors which may be considered from all three pillars of sustainability (social, economic and environmental), within the restricted scope of this project it was decided to concentrate on three primary factors which we perceived to be of primary significance to the common consumer and in a general context of how suitable the large scale expansion of integrated biomass - solar thermal district heating schemes might be in the future:

Environmental

Financial

Land use
