Aims
On the outset of our 12 week project we defined some aims to work towards over the course of the project. These aims were quickly defined through consultation with our academic supervisor and industrial sponsor SSE.
Aim One
To assess the feasibility of integrating an Electric Vehicle (EV) into a Net Zero Carbon House
Aim Two
To establish whether an EV can serve a network support function, addressing temporal variations between the energy demands of the house and the intermittent supply of renewables

Objectives
The following objectives are key to our project:
- Review of Zero Carbon Housing and Electric Vehicles
- Develop electrical demand profiles for a Zero Carbon House
- Generate heating and hot water demand profiles for a Zero Carbon House
- Develop vehicle & house operating scenarios for analysis
- Size a PV system for a Zero Carbon House with & without a Electric Vehicle
- Develop a prototype integrated framework for energy analysis of a Zero Carbon House & Electric Vehicle
- Analysis of scenarios
