Creetown - Conclusion

The mini-hydro scheme proposed for Glenquicken House will only generate 0.5 kW. The building of a dam for water storage will also be of considerable expense. Taking these factors into account, a mini-hydro scheme is not recommended.

The installation of a solar thermal system could provide around half of the annual hot water heat requirement. Auxiliary heating from the existing biomass boiler would provide the other half.
