Hi there! I'm 23 and come from Montpellier,
a small city on the Mediterranean coast. Back in France, I study
in the energy department of my engineering school (Ecole Nationale
Supérieure des Mines de Nancy) and, as a final year student,
I had the opportunity to undertake an “Energy Systems and
the environment” Masters Degree at Strathclyde University.
Academically speaking, my major field of interest is thermofluid
mechanics and energy (thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics)
and I am keen to apply this to all kind of energy systems, including
renewable and nuclear technologies.
As far as hobbies and leisure activities are concerned, I enjoy
sports (table-tennis, badminton, hiking, cross-country running),
electronic music (Hi-nrj, vocal trance and techno) and, last but
not least, learning and practising foreign languages! |

Hope you enjoyed the site! I’m 24 and from
Morayshire in the North of Scotland. Having graduated from Heriot-Watt
University in 2004 with a honours degree in ‘Environmental Management
and Technology’ I went on to work on domestic energy and fuel
poverty issues with Falkirk Council. From this background I developed
a strong interest in energy issues and especially the exploitation
of renewable resources. In order to broaden my technical knowledge
in this area I decided to undertake this MSc in ‘Energy Systems
& the Environment’. Besides energy issues I have a broad
range of academic interests in the environmental field from environmental
management systems to eco-tourism. On a personal level I love to travel
and see the world! |

Hi there, I’m 24 and from Sutherland in
the far north of Scotland. I’ve lived in Glasgow since 2000
when I moved here to study Mechanical Engineering at Glasgow University,
which I graduated from in 2005. After my graduation I took a year
out to take part in a graduate development programme with a Christian
charity called The Navigators, again, in Glasgow. As part of the programme
I had the opportunity to spend 6 weeks in Malawi working on an engineering
project to provide clean water to a small village. It was during my
year out that I developed a keen interest in where we get our energy
from, and environmentally friendly ways of doing so, which led me
to enroll on this postgraduate course in Energy Systems and the Environment.

Hi, I hope you enjoyed the group website. I am
originally from Hong Kong and came to Scotland when I was quite young.
I graduated from Glasgow University in 2002, with an honours degree
in Aeronautical Engineering. Since then I spent some time travelling
and working in office and administration positions. During this time
I qualified as a Sports and Remedial Massage Therapist and became
interested in the holistic approach to life. This, coupled with the
increasing environmental issues spurred me on to this Masters in Energy
Systems and the Environment, which has enabled me to apply my enthusiasm
for engineering to a holistic approach to the environment. |

Hello and welcome to our site! I’m 31 and
from just south of Glasgow in Scotland. After a brief period at the
University of Glasgow I worked in management, sales and marketing
for several companies, with the last being a power utility; at that
point I developed an interest in energy technology and decided to
learn as much as I could. I was also studying part time – my
Open University honours degree includes business management, philosophy
and renewable energy – so continuing my technical studies full
time at the University of Strathclyde was an obvious choice. I’m
now one of those people who enjoys their work! |
