EVs Survey Data

From the survey data of "UK Electric Vehicle Owners Club Community", We found that  most of them are concerned about carbon footprint and climate change. More than 70% of EV owners know about the association between grid and carbon content. According to the question forth, the charging speed and charging time are be the part of problem for putting them off buying an EV around 13%.

All of the owner are concerned about their carbon foot print & Climate change. The size of battery of owner in the UK has the majority of size S, size M which means they spent a few of time for charging batteryt for full capacity compared to the minorityin size L, XL  which spent a lot of time to charge their battery. According to this reason, the queue of charge in car park station is lower than the car park which has all big capacity battery customer.

In terms of charging speed, all of the EV owners are prefer the rapid charging which spending 40-60 minutes approximately. Despite the knowing of a long-term problem that come up with the rapid charging mode which can be effect to their battery life, the people still choosing this mode 34% and turn up into fast charging mode around 50%. Looking onto the charging behavior more than 60% people charge their battery to 100%.

The range of battery charge that people let it drop to before charging again is more than 60% prefer charging at 20-40%. from the question, we can see that people ususally use the public charging points for more than 70% and if they charge their EV at public charging points, they will charge at home charging only 27%. In terms of EV tariff which choose times to charge your EV, more than a half does not already used that before.

Focusing on the using a charging controller which chooses to charge their EV at times of low grid carbon to reduce carbon footprint, people accept this scenario around 90% and feel happy for their car battery to be used as a storage to support the grid and reduce carbon emission (Vehicle to Grid) adaptation. In addition, more than a half is still allow it  if in return their were offfered some form of financial incentive which could include reduced electricity bills or money back for example. Lastly, EV owners 90% are agreed with the idea of controller choosing when to charge which means they care about the carbon emission and they think that this scenario could be useful to help meet government targets for reducing carbon.
