Community Scale Generation & Management of Power at the Isle of Cumbrae

The main source of electricity at the Island is from the central grid as they do not have a gas connection. Hence, the cost of electricity and carbon emission is high. Also, the cable connection from Bute Island is unreliable, and sometimes create problems. Moreover, the island is facing a depleting population as well as the economy. In order to solve these problems and to attract more tourists for boosting the economy, we propose hybrid renewable combinations, and also techniques to reduce the current demand.
