  • Alasdair Fulton, alasdair.fulton@gmail.com

MEng in Mechanical Engineering, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow

Alasdair returned to university to allow him to change direction in his career. After 6 years working for an Engineering Consultancy, troubleshooting vibration problems and performing pipework and rotating machinery dynamics investigations offshore, followed by 3 years working as a freelance engineer, he decided that renewable energy held more exciting opportunities for the future.

  • Theofanis Katsoulis, thkatsoulis@yahoo.gr

Masters in Mechanical Engineering, National Technical University of Athens (NTUA)

Currently attending MSc in Sustainable Engineering: Offshore Renewable Energy, Strathclyde University, Glasgow. Offshore wind and wave resources and synergy alongside with an unlimited area of their exploitation incites the market to turn to deep see waters and far from shore. The development of floating platforms, utilized as O&M bases for supporting floating wind/marine farms is an absolute challenge for the renewable sector.

  • Ioannis Tsichlis, ioannis.tsichlis@outlook.com

MEng in Civil Engineering, University of Thessaly, Larissa

Currently attending MSc in Sustainable Engineering: Offshore Renewable Energy, Strathclyde University, Glasgow. Ioannis has attended several classes related to sustainable development and environmental friendly structural processes during his studies. He is passionate about the raising discipline of offshore renewable energy and its construction challenges.

  • Ignacio Alvarez Freire, ignacioalvarezfreire@gmail.com

BEng/MEng Mining/Energy Engineering University of Vigo/Universidad Politécnica de Madrid/University of Ostrava

Ignacio is from Galicia (Spain). He is currently taking the MSc in Sustainable Engineering: Offshore Renewable Energy as a result of his passion towards the renewable energy sector coming from this academic background as well as his deeply interest in the marine field, gained as a result of having worked as a production/operation engineer in a ship propellers manufacturing company.

  • Giacomo Politi, polojy@hotmail.it

BEng Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Università di Firenze

Giacomo is from Florence (Italy). He is currently taking the MSc in Sustainable Engineering: Offshore Renewable Energy due to his belief in the future of Renewable Energies and his passion for the development of this still unexploited and highly potential source that is the sea and ocean environment, gained through his work for his thesis on a dynamical study of a wave energy converter though a piezoelectric device.
