THE MODEL
A model of a  mid-floor flat is used for analyzing the impact of Home Enteratinment Equipment on the building energy performance. The flat was built to Scottish Building Regulations and the model was obtained from the Energy Systems Research Unit (ESRU) team from the University of Strathclyde.[1]
The flat consists of the following spaces:

            - Living
- Bedroom 1
- Bedroom 2
- Hall
- Kitchen
- Bathroom

The following thermal zones were considered for the simulations:

            - Living
- Non-living (including the kitchen, the corridor and the bathroom)
- Bedroom 1
- Bedroom 2

[1] The model  was developed for the project “The impact on costs and construction practice in Scotland of any further limitation of carbon dioxide emissions from new buildings”, Turners & Townsend, 2007, initiated by the Scottish Building Standards Agency (SBSA).
