[Our Project]
MSc Energy Systems and the
Environment - Part B project
The aim of our project was to provide an information resource on Renewable
Energy in Scotland. This involved producing a series of beginners guide
introducing some of the technologies that would be viable in Scotland.
After the beginners guide which served in many ways as an introduction,
we developed the website on three stage of interest.
" Large scale - the use of renewable technologies in the large scale
explaining the current situation and possible future scenarios.
" Small scale - looking at the possible deployment of renewable technologies
within urban and rural environments; looking specifically at passive solar,
solar collectors, PV cell deployment, ducted wind turbines.
" Policy - performing a study of three key countries focussing on
Environmental, Economic, Legislative and Research & Development to
highlight how other countries compare with Scotland and how they have
advanced with the deployment of renewable technologies.
This multi-faceted approach helps to create a overall picture of renewable
energy in Scotland - what the current state of play is and what is likely
to happen in the future
