This section of the website is presenting the
software tools used during the modelling procedure.

In brief, the team used "S.D.E.M."
simulation tool to calculate the annual energy required and
the associated carbon dioxide emissions in the building stock
of the community being analyzed. On the other hand "ESP-r",
an integrated building simulation tool, was used to create
a dynamic building stock database (hourly values for typical
days during the Winter, the Summer and the transition periods)
regarding the energy required for heating. To access this
database the team has developed a tool to read and present
these data using a friendly user interface (
                    D.P.e
).Using this tool, the user can generate the demand profile
of a wide variety of communities, in terms of building stock
and level of occupancy. Furthermore, during the final step
of our methodology, we used "HOMER",
a demand supply energy matching tool to offset the remaining
                    energy demand.
