Exercise purpose: |
To become familiar with the importing of energy consumption data. |
|
|
1. Download file. |
To download a
sample file, click here 'EnergyData', and open it with a spreadsheet program (e.g.
Microsoft office Excel). This is an example file for energy importing. |
|
You can input your own data. Make sure that the
dates are in the format, yyyy-mm-dd. In the training dataset, fuel type ‘1’
is electricity, fuel type ‘2’ is gas. NOTE: the format of ‘to_date’ must be in yyyy-mm-dd otherwise importing is not carried out properly. |
|
'Save As' the file in text format (tab delimited). NOTE: Make sure that you have 'write' permission in the directory you would save the file. In the case of a network disk drive, you may need to use 'A' or 'H' drive to save the file. |
2. Start Administration mode. |
Choose 'Import' from 'Tools' menu. |
|
Choose 'Energy'
and 'Replace' from the 'import data' box. |
|
Choose from 'Browse
File' the 'Energy_Data.txt' created previously and click 'Import into Energy
Table'. You can confirm the completion
of the importing operation by viewing the imported data. To view the imported
energy data, open the ‘Edit Energy Data’ by selecting ‘Energy’ menu under the
‘Edit’ menu, and type ‘avg_residence’ in the text field of ‘reference’ before
clicking the ‘Go & Take’ button. You can find the data record of
‘avg_residence’ in the query list. |

Ability to manage energy consumption data importing. |
