Ability to employ the entities of the ESP-r materials and constructions database when defining the construction of a zone.

1. Select an appropriate construction for each surface.

Using the zone created in the previous exercise, choose the surface attributes option. Then, for each surface, select an appropriate multi-layer construction from the active database. Save the entered information.

N.B. At this stage the surface attributes contain pointers to the appropriate database entries, but no model construction file has been created.

2. Create a new model constructions file.

Return to Zones definition and select the constructions menu option to create the model file. The required iinformation is automatically extracted from the database and a new zone construction file will appear in the zones directory of your model folder.

3. List the construction details.

The constructions file contains information on both the composition (number of layers, layer thickness, material types) and materials (thermophysical properties) used by the model.
