Model definition - inter-zone connections
Aim |
To understand how zones connect and the possibilities for defining various types of external boundary conditions. |
Learning |
Ability to connect zones and specify standard and special boundary conditions. |
Task |
Instructions |
1. Examine the connections list associated with an example model. |
Explore the possibilities for defining surface boundary conditions. Note that in principle any multi-layer construction can be applied to any model surface, e.g. extern_wall is just a label for a particular construction. Note also that there are alternative ways in which the environment on the other side of a surface can be defined (fixed, determined at run time, external, adiabatic etc). |
2. Use the ESP-r application for automatic connection creation. |
Select the connections & boundary option and then the boundary conditions check/clear option. Proceed with topology checking. Define the connections using the check via vertex contiguity option. Consider the option for setting tolerance. |
