WEEK 4
This week we made our first evaluation of our project and together with our supervisor analysed the results from the 1st crit. We also decided on the way forward and started to think about the form of the deliverable we wished to give. The software tool that we decided to produced will calculate the embodied energy of energy management retrofitting options. The approach that we have adopted was rapid prototype production.
This week's field trip was to the Paper Mills in Inveresk. We were also given a talk by BP Energy in our University.
We have also contacted some members of the Strathclyde Environmental Group concerning LCA (Life Cycle Analysis) matters.
Furthermore we have retrieved one of last year student's thesis a tool to calculate the CO2 emissions. It is a very powerful tool that helps to find the emissions depending on the fuel mix used by the industry.
Finally, we have attended the other team's presentations and found out some interesting thinks about their projects.
