VITAE
My name is Stefanos Batzakis and I was born in Greece on the 14th of May 1974. My address in Greece is 1 Kanari Street, Ampelokipi, Thessaloniki, 56123. My term address in Glasgow is Andrew Ure Hall, Flat A-11, 1-4 Parsonage Row, High Street, G1 1PU.
I am now undertaking an MSc course in Energy Systems and the Environment at the University of Strathclyde. My first degree was obtained at Coventry University (BEng Hons) in Combined Engineering (Electrical Route). My final year project was titled "Solar Energy - Photovoltaic Tracking System".
I have worked as a part time trainee, in a couple technical projects with ALTEREN from November 1997 to June 1998. ALTEREN is an energy consultancy services company in Greece. I have also worked as a Sales Assistant in PC systems, as an Investment Advisor in the area of Funds and as an Instructor in a foundation course teaching Physics and Electronics at a BTEC level.
I have gained good knowledge of Word 6.0 for Windows throughout my University career. Also I have a fair knowledge of Unix systems and several computer programmes such as Orcad, Pspice, Arena and Pascal, Modula 2 programming languages. I have became acquainted with interfacing techniques and assembly language for the 68HC11 microprocessor for my final year project.
I speak English at a Proficiency level and I have a fair knowledge of French. I have always had a keen interest in cinema and media in general. I enjoy travelling, exercising, playing volleyball and I am a member of GREENPEACE.
