SOLSTICE This was a really good site with just about everything you would want to know about Renewable Energy Systems. It also has a comprehensive glossary of terms that made life a whole lot easier. We strongly recommend this site.
Ask Jeeves This is the ultimate search engine. Alta Vista, Yahoo, Excite and all the others all rolled into one. It was sometimes tempermental but it's extremely powerful and easy to use.
Pictures This site was quite good for getting interesting pictures to include within the web site and on our presentation slides.
Solar Energy This was an excellent site. It's all about a group of designers who incorporate solar technology into their building designs. The pictures available on the site are excellent. The site is also very well laid out.
Library This is the Edinburgh Engineering Virtual Library and it has links to all different information types web sites, journals, etc. It was quite comprehensive and easy to navigate through.
Windpower This site is was very helpful and provided alot of technical information as well as product specs. Some aspects of wind turbine design were touched on and an important aspect of grid connection was explained well.
Bergey This was an interactive site highlighting some of the small scale wind turbines available. The site contained some interesting examples of company projects in countries all over the world. There was also an online tutorial explaining some of the fundamentals of wind turbine design. All in all it was a pretty good site.
Funnies Classic comics featuring Frank and Ernest. Just what you need after a hard day's work.
ZZZAP Power Quite a good site with alot of good examples of renewable energy put to use. The site also provided quite a few links to other sources of information.
ESRU Our own departmental site. Its actually quite full of information on ongoing work in the field of renewable energy systems. Online tutorials and case studies abound and we got a few ideas for our site from here.
BWEA The BWEA have a really good site. Its not too cluttered with alot of useless information and is really well structured. There are a few links there and they argue the case for wind power very strongly, but fairly.
