THE PROJECT

This project was carried out under the supervision of Dr Nick Kelly and Dr Gary Connor. It was also conducted in partnership with the Wise Group with Mr Neil Phillips as the industrial contact person.
There are three main objectives to this project. They are;
1. To develop a methodology or ‘pathway’ for communities who aspires to become carbon neutral.
2. To refine this methodology through implementation and technical analysis of the case study: the Riverside community, in Stirling.

3. To identify the impacts, barriers and drivers associated with becoming a carbon neutral community.

 

PROJECT DELIVERABLES
There are four deliverables of this project. They are listed as follows;
  • A readily adaptable carbon-neutral-community pathway/methodology for communities who are interested in going carbon neutral.
  • A website with a step by step guide to help communities in the process of becoming carbon neutral.
  • A user-friendly tool to generate the electricity and heating demand profile generator for a community.
  • Demand profiles and an analysis report for Riverside community.
