While conducting our project study we learnt that for schemes located in Scotland, it is important to consult the above mentioned regulatory bodies at an early stage of planning the scheme. This not only ensures that the scheme is conforming to various regulatory requirements but consultation will also give valuable advice with regards to other aspects of the hydro scheme.

Regulations which are applicable to the scheme are very site specific and the application of local laws and practices can only be best ascertained by the relevant authorities.
