Further Work

  • Extend estimations and effects of channel blockage to cover other channels identified for MCT deployment
  • Extend model to a transient case
  • Extend to 3D domain in order to evaluate more accurately the physics of vertical mixing and bottom roughness effects present in a real channel
  • Model MCT structure more accurately with rotating porosity to represent the swept area of the rotors
  • This more complex modelling approach would be better equipped to evaluate interaction effects between MCT’s
  • The financial model is primary intended for cost/ kWh analysis and a basic level of cost-benefit analysis, annual cost estimates, and break-even analysis for investors. Further development however would include a more complex cost-benefit approach which would include depreciation on capital and equipment, pre and post tax values.
