The Capture and Sequestration of Carbon Dioxide | | |

 Ship Tankers
The transportation of CO2 by ships is already being done, although on a much smaller scale than would
be required for the sequestration
of CO2. The CO2 is transported as a pressurised cryogenic liquid at for example 6 bar and at a temperature of
-55 deg. C.
This method would offer more flexible than pipelines, as they would avoid the need for gaining rights
of way. Also for long distances they
might be cheaper.
Work will be need to look at the ship capable of transporting the large volumes of CO2 involved. Also
studies would need to done into the
circumstances in which the transportation of CO2 by ship would be attractive.
