Career Aim

In my 25s I have realised that the things in life that can elate individuals are those expressing their character and thoughts. Engineering Science has offered me the greatest of emotions and satisfaction throughout my academic years. As a Greek I am deeply obliged to continue the work of my ancestors and become an engineer who will help society to progress and prosper. My dream is to fully establish myself as a Chartered Engineer and to be professionally involved with that magnificent discipline so that I could offer the best for the future generations.

Stronger character, perfection of English language and understanding the real meaning of teamwork are to me the positive points of this work.

Although I did not stay there for more than a month I still had a complete taste of the modernised method for assisting customers effectively and the elements for a good performance.

Waiter: This part time job offered me the opportunity to improve my servicing skills by working under pressure.

Positions of Responsibility

·        During my high school years I was a member of a fivefold class council for two synaptic years with the assigned responsibility of the Class Treasurer.

Interests

Sport

In my free time I practice martial arts. The styles that I am interested in are Aikido and Iaido. I’ve been doing that since I came in Scotland i.e. for the last five years.

Reading

Reading has become a second nature to me either by studying for University work or for personal pleasure. Extracurricular reading comprises scientific, psychological and science fiction articles and documents from books or magazines. I have had, during my degree years, a subscription with IMechE’s “Professional Engineer” magazine. The most recent book that I have read is the Lord of the Rings.

Computers

I enjoy spending hours in front of my computer trying to explore the maximum potential for the software and hardware applications of these systems

Languages

Influenced by martial arts I try to teach myself some Japanese with the hope that some day I will get to visit that country. I also revise my French whenever possible.

Music

I enjoy listening to my favourite music all the day through and I use the internet to find songs and lyrics. I have a great range of musical preferences stretching from classical to heavy metal genres.

Skills and Aptitudes

Driving Licence

I have a Greek/European full, clean driving licence.

Musical

I play guitar for which I had private lessons to start with although I enjoy learning more individually by exercising on my favourite artist’s work.

Computing

I am an experienced user with many commercial packages such as Word, Excel, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and I also possess basic knowledge of a few engineering software applications such as ESP-r, MERIT and ANSYS AutoCAD
