In conclusion, the most feasible option is to provide hot water for the office complex using a heat pump of the following specifications:
Type – vertical boreholes x2 .
Distributed by copper pipes.
Financial feasibility
Financial feasibility is worked out by doing cost analysis.
Pay back period : 3.9 years
NPV – 9300
From our research we can conclude that heat pumps are an excellent idea to reduce energy consumption and can work effectively in the UK especially in the domestic sector or commercial buildings. The technology is environmentally friendly as well as providing a financial benefit. Our findings should encourage the architects and planners to design more environmentally friendly buildings. We believe there is a potentially huge market for heat pumps in UK.
