Frequently Asked Questions

1. Which is the programming language that you used to develop your programme?

We used the graphic language G of the LabView software. G is a flexile, powerful programming language, which works like the text based programming languages, but instead of texts, it uses graphic tools. Thus, the programmer instead of writing a text, it constructs Virtual Instruments (Control Panels and Block Diagrams).

2. Why did you choose the time period of 2 sec as the rhythm of the collection of the power consumption and production data to your programme?

It was really a random choice. The important point of the programme that we have constructed is that it gives you the opportunity to change the sequence of the data collection, according to our desires and needs.

3. How could you give the command to the dials to supply the demand with a specific amount of power?

We could use telephone lines while a second way is using a radio-transmitter and receiver.

4. How do you collect the consumption and the production data and how do you transform these data to your computer?

The truth is that our purpose in this project wasn't to do a study about the appropriate hardware that we could use to collect the data from the power stations or the consumers, and that is the reason that in our programme we used random number's generators. However, informations about remote measurements could be transmitted by phone lines or by radio-signals.
