The following actions, if followed exactly, will result in a
reasonable demo of the IIBDS' capabilities in relation to
combined thermal and lighting appraisal of buildings. Note
that the 2 failure points in the demo are temporary problems
caused by the unavailability of the on-line CAD tool (Microstation)
and DES as configured within COMBINE. At the failure points, the
IIBDS will attempt, unsuccessfully, to establish a socket connection
to a remote machine in Delft. This problem will be rectified as
soon as possible.

1. cd to directory IIBDS/ife (ensure a link /usr/esru/ife points to
    this directory)
2. type "source .iferc_c"
3. type "iibds"
4. hold down left button over "User type" pop-up and select "COMBINE" option
5. left click in "Project name" box and enter demo (return not required)
6. middle click anywhere in iibds window outside an entry box
7. hold down left button over "Design sessions" pop-up and select
    "Unconstrained sequenced"
8. left click "Start" button
9. left click "AutoCAD on-line" box (which actually represents Microstation)
10. attempt to socket connect to remote machine running Microstation
will fail at present - ^C to kill process and continue with demo on basis
    of a default problem.
11. left click "ok" button in response to "finished with Microstation"
12. left click "attribution" button (remote transaction with the COMBINE DES
    will fail at present)
13. left click "ok" button in response to "Are all DES transactions complete"
(demo continues on the basis of a locally stored problem geometry)
14. ESP-r's project manager starts to allow constructional attribution of
problem geometry. At the very minimum do the following to pull in a
previously attributed problem (or attribute yourself if you know
    how to use ESP-r):
