Aims
This class aims to impart an understanding of, and provide practical experience in, the different aspects of design relating to the engineering of the built environment and the energy systems therein.

Key outcomes are expected to be:

    - develop a deeper understanding of the energy sub-systems associated with the built environment;
    - generate and develop design hypotheses;
    - undertake multi-criteria appraisal of designs;
    - develop an understanding of sustainability and its effects on the design process;
    - learn to work as a team;
    - develop skills in communicating outcomes.

The centre piece of the class is a group project, which is based on a challenging design brief. Click on the links below to see examples of previous student's design projects.
